NORTHWEST INDIANA – Franciscan Health is stepping up to help families in need this Thanksgiving. They are hosting three Mobile Markets across Northwest Indiana to provide groceries and a frozen turkey to those facing food insecurity.
Families can get one turkey and side items during these drive-through events. To participate, people must show proof of Indiana residency. Volunteers will manage the lines, and for safety reasons, attendees should stay in their vehicles.
Here are the details:
- Hammond: Monday, Nov. 17 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 5454 Hohman Ave.
- Crown Point: Tuesday, Nov. 18 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Lake County Fairgrounds (enter through Gate 2 on Court Street).
- Michigan City: Thursday, Nov. 20 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 301 W. Homer St.
This initiative is a collaboration with the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana and the Northern Indiana Food Bank. Donations to support this cause can be made through the Franciscan Health Foundation website or by calling (219) 661-3401.
