A mother and her two children were safely found Saturday night in Perinton, New York, after a tense search. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office reported that three men were arrested for allegedly kidnapping the family.
The suspects are Gamil S. Ahmed, 31, and Omar Saleh, 30, both from Rochester, along with Dajour L. Paul, 26, from Brooklyn. They are now in custody, awaiting court proceedings.
The incident began just before 3:30 p.m. when authorities received a call about a 54-year-old woman, Mouna Omar Saleh Ali, and her children, Julie and Hafish, being abducted from their home. It was believed that a family member was involved in their disappearance.
Law enforcement acted quickly, collaborating with multiple agencies. They involved the New York State Thruway Authority, airport officials, and even Canadian border agents to ensure the family didn’t leave the area. An AMBER Alert and a county-wide BOLO (Be On the Lookout) were issued.
Thanks to these efforts, officers located the family unharmed at a residence in Rochester.
