Pepperdine Volleyball Stars Shine in WCC Awards
Pepperdine’s women’s volleyball team is celebrating a successful season. Sophomores Ella Piskorz and Chloe Pravednikov, alongside freshman Tristen Raymond, were all named to the All-West Coast Conference (WCC) First Team. Additionally, Raymond earned a spot on the WCC All-Freshman Team, and junior Laine Briggs received an Honorable Mention.
The Waves finished with a solid 21-8 record, including an impressive 15-3 in conference play. This performance ranked them second in the WCC. They achieved notable wins, including defeating No. 19 UCLA—their first ranked victory since 2022—and beating multiple others within the top 100 of the RPI. By season’s end, the Waves were ranked 43rd in the NCAA RPI.
Out of all schools, Pepperdine’s three first-team honors were second only to San Diego’s four.
Player Highlights
Ella Piskorz: As a standout middle blocker, Piskorz ranked 19th in the nation with 151 total blocks. She led the WCC in blocks per set, averaging 1.42. Piskorz had five or more blocks in 13 matches and recorded double-digit kills in 10 games, showcasing her versatility on the court. This achievement marks the second consecutive year she earned All-WCC First Team recognition.
Chloe Pravednikov: Pravednikov was the team’s top scorer with 310 kills, placing her 11th in the WCC. She maintained consistent performance throughout the season, achieving double-digit kills in 20 matches. Her offensive skills were on display when she tallied a career-high of 20 kills against Oregon State.
Tristen Raymond: In her first year, Raymond excelled as the starting setter, racking up 749 assists, which ranked fourth in the conference. Her stellar play included logging over 30 assists in 10 of the last 11 matches. Raymond also showed defensive skills, contributing 272 digs and earning accolades as WCC Setter of the Week multiple times.
Laine Briggs: As the starting libero, Briggs was impressive, ranking third in the conference for digs per set. She also led the WCC with 51 service aces. Briggs consistently delivered defensively, with double-digit digs in 24 matches and multiple aces in 18 contests.
Notable Awards in WCC
The annual WCC awards saw San Diego’s Jennifer Petrie named Coach of the Year, while Nemo Beach, also from San Diego, took Player of the Year honors, highlighting the competitive talent within the conference.

Pepperdine’s women’s volleyball team has a proud history, making 26 NCAA Tournaments since 1981. They’ve cultivated top talent over the years, with many players achieving All-American status. The program’s alumni include Olympians, reinforcing their reputation as a powerhouse in collegiate volleyball.
