LAKE CHARLES, LA. – The East Texas A&M University Lions faced a tough loss against the McNeese Cowgirls, falling 6-3 in their latest game at Cowgirl Diamond. This defeat means the Lions now sit at 9-38 for the season and 5-19 in Southland Conference play. McNeese, on the other hand, improved to 34-17 overall and continues to dominate the series with a 9-0 record against the Lions.
As the Lions head into their final conference series, they hold a narrow lead over A&M-Corpus Christi for the last spot in the conference tournament. Their performance in this game was crucial, but they still managed to leave seven runners stranded in the first six innings.
The game started with some action as the Lions trailed early. Reese Reyna kicked things off with a single in the second inning, and after a series of walks, she scored from a sacrifice fly by Baylie Dunham.
