The Summer World University Games are underway in Berlin, and three Azerbaijani swimmers are making waves. Competing in swimming events, they showcased their skills and determination.
In the men’s 50-meter backstroke, Nihad Yusibov and Rashad Alquliyev took to the water. Alquliyev finished strong with a time of 27.26 seconds, while Yusibov followed closely at 28.97 seconds. In the 100-meter freestyle, Abdurrahman Rustamov and Alquliyev also put in impressive performances. Rustamov swam a personal best of 50.87 seconds, and Alquliyev clocked in at 53.23 seconds. Interestingly, both Rustamov and Alquliyev beat their previous records of 51.31 seconds and 53.97 seconds, respectively.
Despite not moving on to the next round, their performances highlight their hard work and growth as athletes. Swimming is not just about times; it’s about dedication and improvement over time. According to a recent survey from the International Swimming Federation, personal bests often motivate athletes to train harder, demonstrating that every swim counts.
The Summer Universiade, featuring talents from around the world, will wrap up on July 27, making it a prime opportunity for these athletes to learn and evolve.
