The Utah women’s basketball team achieved a stunning victory over the undefeated No. 8 TCU, winning 87-77 in overtime. This marked a significant milestone, as it was their 11th win against a Top-10 opponent in history and their fourth consecutive season with such an upset.

Utah started strong, jumping to a 6-2 lead. Although TCU quickly closed the gap, a buzzer-beating three-pointer by Evelina Otto allowed Utah to end the first quarter trailing by just one point, 22-21.
In the second quarter, Utah reclaimed the lead with a 9-3 run and ended the half down 39-34. After halftime, the Utes tied the game at 41. Both teams struggled offensively, resulting in nearly three minutes without a score. The Utes finally took the lead, ending the third quarter up 52-50—the first time TCU trailed at that point all season.
The fourth quarter saw the Utes push ahead with a 7-0 run, but TCU fired back to reclaim the lead. With only 12 seconds left, Lani White hit a crucial three-pointer to tie the game, forcing overtime.
In the extra period, Utah dominated with a 12-4 run, closing the game with a total of 20 points scored in overtime, sealing their victory.

Lani White led the Utes with 25 points, shooting 9-of-17 from the field, including four three-pointers. Reese Ross contributed 15 points, while Maty Wilke scored 12. Evelyn Otto dominated the boards with eight rebounds.
Statistically, Utah shot 48.1% overall and an impressive 56.5% from three-point range, a sharp contrast to TCU’s 37.3% and 23.1%, respectively.
