Game 1: Jamestown 12, Providence 2 (5 Innings)
The Jimmies wasted no time making a statement. They rallied for six runs in the second inning, quickly distancing themselves from their opponents.
Jamestown ended the game with 12 runs on 13 hits, securing a run-rule victory. Sydney Grendler shined with a stellar performance, hitting 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs. Maddie Spaeth and Madelyn Webb also stepped up, each contributing two RBIs.
Hope Ransome pitched well, earning the win with five strikeouts over four innings. After Providence briefly led 1-0, the Jimmies responded quickly. Their six-run second inning, highlighted by a two-RBI double from Grendler, marked a crucial turning point.
Game 2: Jamestown 4, Providence 3
The second game was much closer, going down to the wire. A walk-off RBI single from Lauren Weigel sealed the 4-3 win for Jamestown.
Aubrey Quern was instrumental in relief, pitching 3.2 scoreless innings while striking out three. Maddie Hairgrove earned the victory.
In this game, Kylie Yanzuk was a key player, going 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBI. Amanda Burch added a vital RBI double in the fourth inning.
Trailing 3-1 in the sixth, Jamestown rallied back. Yanzuk drove in a run, and Kate Geiszler tied the game with a sacrifice fly. In the seventh, Trinity Gregg walked and later scored the winning run, thanks to Weigel’s clutch hit.
