About the Hilltoppers:

  • WKU recently ended Indiana’s eight-match winning streak with a solid 3-0 victory. Freshman Kaira Knox had an impressive 22 kills, the highest by a WKU freshman since 2002.
  • The Hilltoppers recorded a .306 hitting percentage over the weekend, while their opponents struggled at .141. The strongest defensive showing was against Austin Peay, who dipped to a -.041 percentage.
  • Kaira Knox stood out again, racking up 33 kills with a .444 hitting rate. She also added six blocks and two service aces.
  • Sonja Laaksonen had an outstanding performance, making 10 kills in just two sets with only one error for a .409 percentage.
  • WKU’s middle blockers, Izzy Van De Wiele and Faith Young, contributed significantly with a combined 43 kills. Van De Wiele excelled defensively with 12 blocks, while Young’s seven service aces led the team.
