In the game, the Bulldogs got on the scoreboard first with an RBI single in the second inning. Quinnipiac quickly answered back with a solo home run from Sebastian Mueller, making it 1-1. Yale reclaimed the lead in the third with a sacrifice fly.
However, the Bobcats surged ahead in the fourth inning, scoring three runs. Christian Smith contributed with a single to bring Alex Irizarry home. Then, Kyle Garbowski added another run with a fielder’s choice, and Sean McCulloch bunted his way on to score Luke Zeisloft. By then, Quinnipiac led 4-2.
In the fifth, the Bobcats pushed their lead to 5-2 when Zeisloft grounded out, scoring Mueller from third. As the game wound down, Yale rallied and scored two runs in the final inning. Quinnipiac brought in Ryan Hutchinson to seal the game and secure a 5-4 victory.
