HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall’s soccer team faced a tough match against West Virginia, losing 2-0 in front of 1,261 fans. This rivalry game marked the first time the Mountaineers visited Marshall for a regular season game since 1999.
The game was tense, remaining scoreless until the 39th minute when West Virginia scored from a corner kick, shifting the game’s momentum. Marshall struggled to respond, only managing three shots, none of which were on target.

Marshall found it hard to break through the West Virginia defense, with Hurricane native Bailey Fisher being one of the few players to attempt a shot.
