Exciting Times for Lindenwood Softball
The Lindenwood Softball team has made quite an impact in the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament! With a record of 31 wins and 23 losses and 17 wins against 10 losses in the OVC, they showed their strength by defeating #5 SEMO and #3 SIUE. Now, they are set for the championship game against #1 Eastern Illinois tomorrow at 11 AM.
In their first game, Lindenwood faced SEMO. After a tense start where SEMO took an early lead, it was Danielle Franz who delivered the game-winning hit in the ninth inning, bringing home Tori Hatton. The team showed resilience throughout the game. Sam Roulanaitis came in as relief, doing an excellent job to limit SEMO’s scoring. The game ended 3-2, thanks to Franz’s clutch performance.
Next, they faced SIUE and put on a show! After a few quiet innings, the Lions erupted with a strong fifth inning, scoring five runs. Kylee Crowder had a fantastic game, hitting a home run and driving in four runs. Lindenwood ended this game with an impressive 13-5 victory.
Looking ahead, the team needs to defeat Eastern Illinois twice to claim the championship. They’ll go in with confidence, fueled by their recent performances.
