Thrilling Victory: Terry and Strome Power Anaheim Ducks to 5-2 Win Against Canucks!

On Thursday night, the Anaheim Ducks celebrated a strong 5-2 victory over the Vancouver Canucks. This win marked their fifth straight home win and their eighth victory in the last eleven games.

The second period was especially exciting for the Ducks, with Frank Vatrano, Cutter Gauthier, and Ryan Strome all scoring. Late in the third period, Jackson LaCombe added a goal, followed by an empty-net goal from Troy Terry, securing the win. Both Terry and Strome shone with a goal and two assists each in the game.

Goalie Lukas Dostal made 22 saves, helping the Ducks in their first home game in over three weeks. For the Canucks, Tyler Myers and Pius Suter scored early in the first period, giving them a brief lead. However, they couldn’t keep up and ended up allowing five goals without reply, leaving them with a disappointing record of 1-3-0 on their five-game road trip.

Myers scored first just 3 and a half minutes into the game, followed closely by Suter’s 15th goal. But the Ducks struck back quickly, with Vatrano netting his 18th goal early in the second period, followed by Gauthier’s twelfth goal of his rookie year.

While the Ducks celebrated, the Canucks faced frustration. This defeat hurt their confidence, especially as it was their 26th consecutive loss when trailing after two periods. The team had hoped to carry over their momentum from a recent win against the Kings, but the collapse was tough to swallow.

As for the Ducks, there’s still room for improvement. Dostal’s performance wasn’t ideal, especially on the Canucks’ two early goals. He’s currently in a slump, particularly with co-starter John Gibson sidelined due to injury.

The Ducks take a positive step forward as the team has collected points in nine of their last eleven games. This is their best stretch of play since late 2021.

Looking ahead, both teams have rivalry games this weekend: the Canucks will face off against Seattle, while the Ducks will host Chicago.
