Actor Timothy Busfield made headlines recently after facing serious allegations related to the alleged sexual abuse of two boys on the set of “The Cleaning Lady,” a television series produced in New Mexico. The Emmy-winning actor, known for roles in “Thirtysomething” and “The West Wing,” was taken into custody for two counts of criminal sexual contact with minors and one count of child abuse.
Busfield, who is 68 years old, has denied all allegations through his attorney, Stanton “Larry” Stein. Stein claims the accusations are false and suggest they stem from a desire for revenge after the boys were removed from the show, which angered their mother.
During a press conference, Sam Bregman, the Bernalillo County District Attorney, noted that Busfield appeared in court and was ordered to remain in custody. Curiously, as the case progressed, another allegation surfaced involving a 16-year-old girl. This claim involved unwanted physical contact at a theater co-founded by Busfield in California. According to court documents, the girl’s father reported the abuse and alleged that Busfield tried to prevent them from contacting the police.
