Tokayev Urges Swift Climate Action: Unveiling Game-Changing Environmental Initiatives

Kazakhstan is facing significant environmental challenges, particularly due to climate change. Recent reports highlight that last year was the hottest on record, with Central Asia warming at twice the global rate. This alarming trend is causing glaciers in the Alatau mountains to melt quickly, threatening water and food security for millions.

Kazakhstan has unique experiences related to environmental issues, notably with the Aral Sea. To further promote ecological awareness, President Tokayev proposed declaring April 22 as the International Day of Greening the Planet. This initiative aims to encourage global action for environmental preservation.
