Tom Hardy is not returning for the third season of “Mobland.” Sources have confirmed this to Variety. The production for Season 2 wrapped up in March, but Hardy won’t reprise his role due to issues on set with executive producer Jez Butterworth and others involved in the project.
No official announcement has been made for a third season yet. However, considering its popularity on Paramount+, it’s likely to happen. It remains unclear how the show will write Hardy’s character, Harry Da Souza, out of the series.
“Mobland” debuted on Paramount+ in the spring and quickly became a hit, ranking as the second most-watched series on the platform. The show, created by Ronan Bennett, also stars Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren, and Paddy Considine. It revolves around the Harrigan crime family, led by Brosnan’s character, Conrad.
This isn’t the first time Hardy has had clashes with colleagues. He famously had conflicts with Charlize Theron during the making of “Mad Max: Fury Road.” Director George Miller noted that Hardy needed to be “coaxed out of his trailer” at times, which echoed challenges he faced on set.
