A well-known Nirvana fan is reminiscing about Kurt Cobain.
Tony Hawk, the legendary skateboarder, has a special bond with Cobain, who tragically passed away at just 27 in 1994.
Recently, Hawk’s son, Riley, and Cobain’s daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, welcomed a child together, named Ronin Walker Cobain Hawk, making their connection even stronger.
Over the weekend, Tony Hawk shared a memorable moment on Instagram. He posted a photo of a ticket stub from a Nirvana concert in 1991 at The Vatican in Houston, Texas.
Hawk recalled how he went straight from a skateboarding competition to the concert. He captioned the ticket image, saying, “It was as transformative as live music can possibly be. We all experienced something rare and powerful that night. The world would never be the same.”
He added, “I wish Kurt were here to see the incredible woman his daughter has become, meet her caring husband, and hold our wonderful grandchild.”
Frances Bean Cobain, now 32, was just a toddler when her father died. On the 30th anniversary of his passing last year, she posted a touching tribute online.
In her heartfelt message, she expressed her wishes, saying, “I wish I could’ve known my Dad. I wish I knew the cadence of his voice, how he liked his coffee, or what it felt like to be tucked in after a bedtime story.” She also shared nostalgic thoughts about summer days spent catching tadpoles and the scent of her father’s favorite things.
Frances is the only child of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, and her reflections show the lasting impact her father still has on her life.
