Top 10 Must-Play Switch 1 & 2 Games from BitSummit 2025: Our Honest Reviews!

BitSummit 2025 has come and gone, and it brought a fresh wave of excitement for indie games, especially those heading to Nintendo Switch. Set in Kyoto’s Miyako Messe, this annual event showcases Japanese indie developers and welcomes talent from across the globe. This year marked its 13th edition, and even legendary composer Nobuo Uematsu graced the event with a live performance.

If you’re curious about the exciting games on the horizon for the Nintendo Switch, here’s a look at ten noteworthy titles we found at BitSummit.

Hades 2 (2025)

Leading the pack was Hades 2. Following the success of its predecessor, this action roguelike is already making waves in early access on PC. Our hands-on experience showed that it runs smoothly on the Switch 2, hitting 60 frames per second. The graphics remained crisp, even in handheld mode.

Pico Park 2 (Available Now / Mouse Mode Coming Soon)

We also played Pico Park 2, a cooperative puzzle game. Though it’s already released, we sampled exclusive levels using the new mouse mode for Switch 2. The teamwork involved was chaotic and immensely fun, even with language barriers among teammates.

Obakeidoro 2 (Summer 2025)

Obakeidoro 2 is an asymmetrical party game where players can either be chibi humans trying to escape or monster ghost girls trying to capture them. Each quick match offers a blend of strategy and frantic fun in a haunted mansion setting.

Ratatan (TBA)

We got hands-on with Ratatan, the spiritual successor to Patapon. This game combines rhythm-based gameplay with roguelike elements. Players control music-loving gremlins that direct their armies through charming and energetic battles.

Bashful Adoration (2027)

Bashful Adoration by KittyWumpas is a party game featuring four witches in a colorful world. Players compete for the affection of a boy named Merlin, navigating 3D platforming stages filled with collectibles and quirky challenges.

Lovish (2025)

Next up is Lovish, a unique 2D action platformer featuring Sir Solomon on a quest to save Princess Tsuna. With over 150 random events, it promises to deliver a fresh experience every time.

SacriFire (2026)

SacriFire blends traditional RPG elements with an innovative combat system where time stops when players do, allowing for strategic battles akin to Vagrant Story.

Neverway (TBA)

Neverway offers a darker take on the farming sim genre. Its story dives into Fiona’s struggle as she battles depression while adjusting to her new life. The combat shares vibes with classics like The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.

Earth Atlantis 2 (TBA)

Earth Atlantis 2 is poised to elevate its predecessor with richer visuals and a more vibrant underwater world. Players can expect to face more than 20 unique bosses in various beautifully crafted environments.

Earthion (September 2025)

Last but not least, Earthion, developed by Ancient Corp, offers classic shoot ’em up gameplay with a nostalgia-inducing 16-bit aesthetic. It’s set to challenge players with a mix of skill and dynamic storytelling.

BitSummit was a treasure trove of games, with so much talent on display. As fans eagerly await these titles, it’s clear that Nintendo’s indie landscape for 2025 and beyond is jam-packed with creativity and innovation.
