Tracy Morgan is currently recovering in the hospital after experiencing a serious case of food poisoning. On Monday, during a New York Knicks game at Madison Square Garden, Tracy was seen vomiting courtside. He was quickly taken out of the venue in a wheelchair, raising concerns about his health.

In an Instagram post, Tracy thanked his fans for their well wishes. He revealed that his illness came from a bad dinner, saying, “I’m doing okay now, and doctors say it was food poisoning. Appreciate my MSG family for taking such good care of me.” He also made light of the situation, joking that the Knicks are now 1-0 when he gets sick on the court.
The game, where the Knicks beat the Miami Heat 116-95, saw a brief delay due to Tracy’s episode. A Madison Square Garden representative expressed hope for his quick recovery and mentioned they look forward to his return courtside.
Tracy has had health challenges before. He has diabetes and underwent a kidney transplant in 2010. In 2012, he collapsed at the Sundance Film Festival, with reports attributing it to exhaustion and altitude. After that incident, he humorously remarked, “Superman ran into a little kryptonite,” referencing his Brooklyn roots and the struggle with high altitude.
In 2014, he suffered a serious accident when a Walmart truck collided with a limo he was in. He endured two weeks in a coma and worked hard to relearn how to walk and talk. Tracy’s journey reflects resilience in the face of health obstacles.
Food poisoning, the cause of his recent hospitalization, is more common than many might think. According to the CDC, roughly 48 million people in the U.S. experience foodborne illnesses each year, leading to 128,000 hospitalizations.
Tracy’s ability to joke about his health issues and connect with his fans shows his humor and strength. His social media presence has made him relatable and inspired many who face their own challenges. As a beloved figure, his recovery is eagerly awaited by fans and the entertainment community alike.
