“My wife is passed out in bed. She won’t wake up,” the caller explained to the 911 operator. “She’s groaning and has been throwing up all morning.” Jodi was later pronounced dead at 12:51 p.m. after being taken to Grant Medical Center.

The Franklin County Coroner’s Office has yet to determine an official cause of death. However, Jodi’s family stated that her heart stopped due to severe dehydration complications. In their heartfelt message, they described her as a beautiful person and emphasized the shock of her sudden passing. “Please give her family time to process this loss in peace,” they asked. “If anyone takes anything from this, please put your health first.”

Originally from Amarillo, Texas, Jodi was reportedly in Columbus for the Arnold Sports Festival. She was not competing but was there to coach. Following her death, her coach, Justin Mihaly, revealed concerns about Jodi’s health, suggesting she may have been taking harmful supplements without anyone’s knowledge. He expressed that many people had tried to encourage her to take it easier, but she was known for her determination.

Jodi’s story underscores the importance of prioritizing health and well-being, reminding us all to listen to our bodies and seek help when needed.
