At least 17 people lost their lives when a boat capsized in the Mediterranean south of Crete. The Greek coastguard reported that two survivors, in critical condition, were taken to a hospital. They shared that a fierce storm left them adrift without food, water, or shelter.
The vessel was found 26 nautical miles southwest of Crete, alerted by a Turkish cargo ship.
