Tragic Discovery: 3 American Women Found Dead at Belize Beach Resort – What Happened?

Last weekend in San Pedro, Belize, three young American women were tragically found dead in their hotel room at the Royal Kahal Beach Resort. The women, Koutar Naqqad, 23, Imane Mallah, 24, and Wafae El-Arar, 26, had traveled from Revere, Massachusetts, to enjoy a vacation in paradise.

Authorities have started an investigation into their deaths, with early reports considering possibilities like carbon monoxide poisoning or possible overdoses. Police mentioned that alcohol and edibles were discovered in the room, highlighting concerns about the safety of such products. “We’ve had issues with gummies in the past being resold and sending people to the hospital,” noted the police commissioner.

An autopsy was scheduled to shed more light on the situation. Surveillance footage revealed that the women checked into their hotel room on Thursday evening but were not seen leaving afterward. Interestingly, no one entered their room during that time. When housekeepers knocked the next day, there was no response, leading them to leave without checking further.

Sadly, police estimate the women might have been deceased for about 20 hours before they were discovered. The city of Revere has expressed deep condolences to the families and friends affected by this heartbreaking event. This incident sheds light on the importance of being vigilant about safety, especially when traveling abroad.
