Tragic Discovery: Young American Tourists Found Dead at Popular Caribbean Beach Resort – Authorities Launch Investigation

In a tragic incident, three American tourists were found dead at a beach resort in Belize. Local officials suspect drug overdoses may be involved. The tourists, identified as Kaoutar Naqqad, 23, Imane Mallah, 24, and Wafae El-Arar, 26, were discovered in their room at the Royal Kahal Beach Resort in San Pedro. They were last seen entering their room on Thursday night.

The resort staff grew concerned when they couldn’t reach the women on Friday. After using a master key to enter the room on Saturday morning, they found the women unresponsive. Reports suggest that froth in their mouths indicated possible drug overdoses. Alcohol and some gummies were also found in the room, leading authorities to investigate where the substances came from, whether they were purchased locally or brought from the U.S. Police Commissioner Chester Williams stated, “We’re not saying at this time that the gummies caused death, but we’re looking at every possibility.”

Along with the gummies, vapes and snacks were found, and there were no apparent injuries or signs of forced entry. Belize, known for its beautiful beaches and vibrant culture, attracts many American tourists. However, the U.S. State Department advises travelers to remain cautious. It has warned that crimes, including armed robberies and assaults, occur even in tourist areas. Travelers are specifically urged to avoid Belize City, about 35 miles south of San Pedro, due to high crime rates.

As the investigation continues, the community mourns the loss of these young women. Belize’s police and local authorities are working to uncover the details surrounding this tragic event.
