Bodybuilder Jodi Vance tragically passed away at just 20 years old. Her family shared the heartbreaking news, stating her heart stopped due to severe dehydration. They mentioned that despite the hospital’s efforts, she couldn’t be revived. “She was a beautiful person inside and out and will be missed every single day. This was sudden and unexpected,” they wrote on Instagram.
Days before her death, Vance posted a photo flexing her muscles at The Pro’s Gym in Columbus, Ohio, where she was coaching athletes for the Arnold Sports Festival. Although she wasn’t competing, she was actively supporting her trainees.
Justin Mihaly, Vance’s coach, expressed his grief in a heartfelt video. He mentioned that she made a serious mistake in her training by using unsafe substances without his knowledge. He emphasized that there was no reason for her to be dehydrated, especially since she wasn’t competing at the event. “Recently, her health had become quite concerning,” he said, revealing that many tried to get her to slow down but struggled due to her strong work ethic.
Mihaly explained that Vance had a dangerously high potassium level when she reached the hospital. He stated that she had expressed an interest in using certain supplements, which, when combined with a diuretic, led to tragic health consequences. His video was shared with the support of Vance’s mother, showing a unified front in honoring her memory and urging others to prioritize their health.
