Jonathan Joss, the voice of John Redcorn from *King of the Hill*, was tragically shot and killed in San Antonio. The police have arrested 56-year-old Sigfredo Alvarez Ceja, who lived nearby, and he now faces murder charges.

Officers responded to a shooting call around 7 p.m. and found Joss, 59, on the ground. Despite their efforts, he was declared dead at the scene.

Ceja fled initially but was caught just a block away. The police are still investigating the motive behind the attack.

In a heartfelt Facebook post, Joss’s husband, Tristan Kern de Gonzales, shared that they were checking their mail when a man approached them. The man began shouting violent homophobic slurs before pulling a gun and firing. Joss pushed Gonzales out of the way, saving his life.

Joss was more than just a voice actor. He stepped into the role of John Redcorn after the original voice, Victor Aaron, passed away in a car accident. Joss also played Chief Ken Hotate on *Parks and Recreation* and appeared in shows like *Ray Donovan* and *True Grit*.

Recently, *King of the Hill* announced a revival, set to air on Hulu. Unfortunately, Joss was not invited to be part of it. Just two days before his death, Joss attended a cast panel at Austin’s ATX TV Festival, where he celebrated the show that brought him widespread recognition.

Earlier this year, Joss faced personal loss, losing two dogs and his childhood home to a fire in San Antonio. The home, built by his father in 1957, held significant sentimental value.

Joss proudly embraced his Comanche and White Mountain Apache heritage, and his portrayal of Native characters resonated with many viewers. Following the news of his death, fans took to social media to express their admiration. One user noted, “John Redcorn was the only contemporary Native representation I had in comedy growing up.” Many highlighted how his performance made a lasting impact.
