A Kansas man, Denton Loudermill Jr., has passed away following a harrowing experience where he was wrongly identified as a suspect in a shooting at a Kansas City rally last year. His attorney confirmed his death, asking for privacy for the grieving family.

Loudermill was caught in the chaos of a shooting on February 14, 2024, near Union Station in Kansas City. The incident left a popular DJ dead and injured over 20 others, including many children. Amidst the confusion, Loudermill stood frozen as gunfire erupted, eventually being detained by police who mistook him for a suspect. He was handcuffed and photographed by onlookers, with some social media posts wrongly labeling him as an “illegal alien” and a “shooter.”

Despite being cleared by police shortly after his detainment, Loudermill’s reputation suffered. He filed lawsuits against several political figures who shared misinformation about him. Unfortunately, these cases were dismissed due to jurisdictional issues.
