WASHINGTON – The family of 22-year-old Ezell Hill is heartbroken following his tragic death. He was shot while delivering food late Tuesday night in Northwest D.C.
Ezell was riding an electric scooter on 16th Street NW around midnight when someone opened fire at him. He was hit multiple times and unfortunately, died near the spot where he was making a delivery.
His family, still processing the shock, shared their grief with FOX 5’s Shomari Stone. Ezell’s brother, Kevohn McCormick, expressed disbelief over the loss. “It’s unreal for a kid like him. He doesn’t bother anyone. He was passionate about doing honest work and making his own way,” McCormick said.
Ezell had plans to enroll in an IT job training program, a hopeful step that now will never come to be.
Meanwhile, police are investigating the shooting and searching for a dark Toyota sedan believed to be connected to the incident. The motive behind the shooting is still unknown.
