Tragic Small Plane Crash in Illinois: Four Lives at Stake

A small plane crashed in a field near a road in rural Illinois on Saturday morning. The plane had four people on board. Authorities have not yet confirmed if there were any fatalities, but the Illinois State Police stated they are conducting an "active and ongoing fatal aircraft investigation."

The incident took place around 10:15 a.m. in Trilla, approximately 65 miles south of Champaign. Debris from the Cessna 180, a single-engine aircraft, was strewn across the roadway, prompting officials to close the area for several hours.

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker took to social media to express his condolences, saying, “We keep those impacted by the plane crash in our thoughts today. Thank you to the first responders who rushed to the scene.”

On Friday, a small plane went down in a river in eastern Nebraska, claiming the lives of three.
