Florida State University (FSU) is set to launch a new online Master of Arts program in arts administration in the fall of 2026. This program is designed for those already working in the arts, offering flexibility while they continue their careers.
FSU has a rich history in arts administration. It’s home to one of the oldest programs of its kind in the country. The new online offering combines practical coursework with collaboration from FSU’s Askew School of Public Administration and Policy. Students will also benefit from the university’s well-respected arts programs. This blend provides many opportunities for hands-on learning.
Trevor Meagher, the program’s director, emphasizes the program’s aim to develop future leaders in the arts. “We want to help them advance their skills to make a meaningful impact in their fields and communities,” he says.
This online pathway will cover vital subjects such as cultural policy, grant writing, and financial management. Insights from experts in arts administration highlight the growing demand for effective leadership in this field. The National Endowment for the Arts reports that nearly 50% of arts organizations have difficulty finding skilled leaders.
Applications for this inaugural class are open until February 1, 2026. For more information about this and other programs, check out the Department of Art Education’s website.
