Transforming Education in 2025: Unleashing the Impact of a Public Mission in Our Evolving World

The University of Cincinnati is making great strides in enhancing its learning environment. Recently, we revitalized the Old Chemistry Building. This transformation includes new labs and spaces that benefit students and faculty alike. It’s part of our ongoing commitment to education and research. So far, we’ve opened 10 new buildings focused on teaching and research.

This past summer, we introduced the Sheakley Indoor Practice Facility and Athletics Performance Center. This investment is crucial for keeping us competitive in the Big 12 and attracting top student-athletes. Construction is also underway on two residence halls at the corner of Calhoun and Vine. These halls are part of our long-term plan to offer modern housing options for students.

The university was founded in 1819 with a powerful vision: that education can change lives and uplift communities. This belief has guided us for over 200 years and motivates our future. As we enter the new academic year and prepare for the Breakthrough phase of our Next Lives Here initiative in 2026, our focus remains on building a university that is nationally recognized for its local impact.
