Capital Agro for Import & Export Group is making a big move with a new $25 million logistics complex. This complex will specialize in frozen food storage and distribution, boasting large freezers and efficient sorting and packaging lines. The plan includes a $15 million investment in 2025, followed by an additional $10 million until 2027.
This project aims to create a fully integrated logistics platform. The goal is to provide warehousing and trading services while using advanced technology. Such technology is a first for Egypt’s cold storage industry, and it promises to make operations smoother, enhance storage capacity, and boost food security.
Located in Belbeis, Sharkia Governorate, the complex is close to major seaports, industrial centers, and farms. This strategic position means easier access to both production sources and consumers. The land is secured for 25 years through an agreement with the Sharkia National Food Company.
The facility will cover about 30,000 square meters and can handle over 30,000 pallets. Advanced sorting and packaging lines for fruits and vegetables will make it one of the largest logistics projects in Egypt this year. It will use a goods bank system to manage the entire storage and trading process, featuring real-time inventory tracking and smart data analysis.
Artificial intelligence will play a key role here, optimizing storage conditions and monitoring temperatures. This ensures high quality and efficiency throughout.
In line with Egypt’s commitment to sustainability, the facility will utilize solar and renewable energy, reducing its environmental impact.
With nearly 13 years in the import and export sector, Capital Agro has extensive experience in operating cold storage facilities. They also engage in diverse retail ventures, including electronics, restaurants, and cafés.
Overall, this logistics hub not only strengthens Egypt’s food storage and distribution capabilities but also aligns with broader sustainability goals. Experts in the food security sector suggest that such investments are crucial in addressing challenges in the food supply chain, especially amid growing global demand.
Investing in better storage and logistics can lead to more reliable food distribution and a healthier economy, making this initiative a win for many.
