New Delhi recently hosted “Sundays on Cycle,” a fun initiative promoting fitness. Led by Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, this event aimed to inspire communities to embrace a healthy lifestyle.

This week, doctors joined the event, highlighting their vital role in preventive health. Dr. Mandaviya expressed gratitude for their dedication, especially during the pandemic, and encouraged them to guide the public toward better health. His message: when doctors advise people on health, they listen, making this partnership key in tackling challenges like obesity.

The event was buzzing with energy, attracting participants of all ages. Notably, World Para Athletics Championship medalists like Praveen Kumar were present to motivate everyone. Organized with groups like the Cycling Federation of India and Raahgiri Foundation, the event included fun activities like Zumba, Rope Skipping, and Yogasana, providing something for everyone.

Dr. Mandaviya shared how “Sundays on Cycle” has reached over 10,000 places in India, aiming to raise awareness about fitness and well-being. His vision aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of a healthier nation by 2047. He emphasized that fitness should be a priority for all, stating cycling is an easy way for anyone to stay active.

Praveen Kumar echoed this sentiment, highlighting how exercise sharpens focus, which is essential for achieving goals. Another athlete, Sailesh Kumar, praised the government’s initiative, noting that dedicating even an hour daily to fitness is crucial for both physical and mental health.

The “Sundays on Cycle” movement encourages communities to gather every Sunday to bike and engage in fitness activities. This week’s emphasis on medical professionals showcased that everyone can take small steps toward better health.

The initiative has achieved impressive participation, with over 12.5 lakh people taking part nationwide across 44 editions. Events happen in various locations, from sports centers to regional hubs, making fitness accessible to many.

This growing trend in fitness not only promotes individual health but also strengthens community bonds, showing how a united effort can lead to a healthier nation.
