Based in Overland Park, Kansas, this new subsidiary will focus on providing healthcare staffing and support services for federal, tribal, and public-sector clients. They plan to offer both clinical and non-clinical healthcare professionals, along with administrative support. The company will handle recruitment, credentialing, onboarding, and deployment for various healthcare needs.
A key aim of Eastern Shawnee Staffing Solutions is to assist federal healthcare programs like the Indian Health Service and Bureau of Indian Affairs, especially in tribal and underserved areas. This focus highlights an increasing demand for healthcare services in communities that often struggle to find adequate support.
To lead this initiative, Eastern Shawnee Companies has onboarded three seasoned healthcare executives. Trey Strecker has been appointed as the general manager, with Daniel Matus serving as director of healthcare staffing and Barbara “Babs” Klinock as senior recruiter. Their prior experience working together in similar roles will help the new subsidiary hit the ground running.
This expansion into healthcare staffing adds to Eastern Shawnee Companies’ diverse portfolio, which already includes environmental, professional, and tech services. The tribe’s growth is significant, especially after securing SBA 8(a) certification in 2024 and forming various joint ventures in sectors like engineering and broadband.
According to a recent study from the National Healthcare Workforce Commission, there is a projected shortage of over 3 million healthcare workers by 2030. This makes Eastern Shawnee’s focus on staffing even more timely and necessary as they strive to meet the needs of both tribal and federal clients.
