During a live event in New Delhi, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh celebrated the launch, calling it a “symbol of Viksit Bharat” and a step towards realizing Dr. Vikram Sarabhai’s vision. He emphasized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s reforms, which have positioned India as a key player in the space sector.
Shukla’s journey is significant, carrying scientific kits developed by Indian institutions like IITs and IISc. Among these is an exciting experiment with edible microalgae. This research could be crucial for future space missions, providing sustainable nutrition.
The spacecraft is set to dock with the ISS on June 26, adding to India’s growing reputation in global science. According to a report by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), India aims to further its space sustainability goals through the Gaganyaan program, which focuses on human spaceflight.
