Transforming Lives: How a Fresno Business is Revolutionizing Transportation for Kids

In Fresno County, Kidz Cab is making life easier for families. Every weekday from sunrise to sundown, they transport children ages 3 to 18 to various destinations.

Jacqueline Perez, the CEO, explains, “We help kids get to daycare, school, and even appointments. We also support extracurricular activities.” She started Kidz Cab in 2021 after noticing a transportation gap while working as a daycare consultant.

“We offer families a helping hand,” Perez shares. Many parents, especially single moms and dads, struggle with getting their kids to where they need to be. Perez knows this struggle first-hand; she has eight kids of her own. “It was tough for my husband and me to balance work and getting the kids to school and activities,” she admits.

Geneva Chavez, a mom of five, values the service. With only one car, coordinating her kids’ schedules is a challenge. “Sometimes, we don’t have anyone available to drive. But with Kidz Cab, we know they’ll take care of it,” she says.

Currently, Kidz Cab serves around 75 children each month. Recently, the company expanded by adding a fourth van, thanks to a $20,000 grant Jacqueline won during a pitch competition with the Fresno Area Hispanic Foundation.

The company prides itself on safety and trust. All drivers go through thorough background checks, including FBI clearance and a clean driving record. This ensures that parents can feel secure about their children’s rides.

Looking ahead, Kidz Cab plans to offer services for young adults as well. They are also developing a mobile app to make booking rides even easier.
