Transforming Menopause Care: Elektra and Oscar Health Join Forces to Enhance Access for Women

Virtual health provider Elektra Health has teamed up with Oscar Health to introduce the first menopause-focused health insurance plan in the U.S. This initiative aims to help midlife women get better access to specialized care, especially if they lack employer coverage.

The new HelloMeno plan offers comprehensive menopause support, including clinical help and affordable access to vital health services. The companies view this as a significant step toward making menopause-centered medical coverage a standard across the nation.

“Menopause brings unique challenges for midlife women, yet our healthcare system has often overlooked these needs,” says Jannine Versi, CEO of Elektra. The partnership with Oscar aims to empower millions of women by providing them with affordable, dedicated care and support.

Starting January 1, 2026, HelloMeno will be available on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) marketplace, allowing individuals who don’t receive insurance through their employer to obtain coverage. Enrollment kicks off on November 1, 2025, across 11 states.

Meeting Growing Needs

HelloMeno is designed to meet the increasing demand from women experiencing symptoms like hot flashes, insomnia, and hormonal changes. Members receive free visits for primary care, gynecology, and mental health support. The plan also covers lab work, hormone therapy, insomnia medications, and bone-density scans at no cost.

Additionally, members will have 24/7 access to Elektra’s virtual care network, which features menopause-trained clinicians. This model aims to improve patient satisfaction while reducing unnecessary doctor visits. The plan also extends low-cost care for autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, which tend to rise in midlife.

Women can earn rewards by attending preventive screenings and wellness visits specifically focused on menopause. HelloMeno will be available in states like Arizona, Florida, and Texas.

A Shift in Wellness Products

The demand for menopause-related solutions isn’t just in healthcare; it’s also appearing in beauty and wellness products. Dr. Iona Weir, founder of Myregyna, highlights how Gen X women are seeking out stigma-free solutions for postmenopausal sexual health, incorporating innovative plant stem cell technology.

In line with this trend, Dove has released a Women’s Wellness Range targeting symptoms like vaginal dryness. Similarly, Secret has introduced deodorants aimed at managing body odor and sweat associated with menopause.

These developments point to a growing recognition of midlife women’s health needs, both in healthcare insurance and consumer products, fostering a more supportive environment as they navigate this significant life stage.
