JERSEY CITY, N.J. | New Jersey City University (NJCU) has transformed its Nursing Education Center (NEC) in Rossey Hall. This newly upgraded facility shows NJCU’s dedication to hands-on education, equipping future nurses with essential skills. The center officially opened its doors to students on June 12, 2025.

According to recent surveys, two out of three nurses in New Jersey report feeling overworked, contributing to this alarming trend. Addressing these challenges, NJCU is focused on producing well-trained nursing graduates who can meet the healthcare demands of their communities.

Dr. Esther Nir, the Interim Dean of the College of Professional Studies, emphasized the importance of this revamped center: “Our dedicated faculty has risen to meet the needs of our students. NJCU’s hands-on approach positions us as a leader in education amid this critical shortage.”

The upgraded Nursing Education Center includes:

• A medication room equipped with an OmniCell system to practice real-world hospital medication management.
• A specialized nursing prioritization room to support the diverse needs of patients.
• Virtual reality technology that allows immersive simulations to enhance clinical decision-making.
