Background: Integrated behavioral health (IBH) combines mental health care and primary care. This approach aims to enhance patient experiences and outcomes. The goal of this study was to see if a customized toolkit could boost IBH and improve patient outcomes in primary care for those with chronic health issues.
Study Design: Researchers conducted a cluster randomized controlled trial. They split 42 primary care practices into two groups. One group received a comprehensive toolkit designed to improve IBH services. This toolkit included:

- Remote coaching from experienced professionals
The other group continued their usual IBH services without added support.
Main Findings: Among the practices that engaged more with the toolkit, there was a notable improvement in how they integrated behavioral health. This included better workflows, methods of integration, and identifying patients in need. However, the study found no significant differences in clinical health outcomes like depression and anxiety between the two groups.
