Transforming Storm: How This Cross-Country Weather System Will Drench the South This Weekend

As we head into the weekend, a storm coming from the West will bring wet weather to the South. If you have outdoor plans, it might be a good idea to check the forecast.

Here’s a breakdown of what to expect over the next couple of days.

Saturday

This day could see rain disrupting activities in places like Dallas, Oklahoma City, New Orleans, and Tallahassee. If you’re in these areas, it might be wise to have an indoor backup plan.

Some severe storms could hit eastern Texas, Louisiana, southern Mississippi, southern Alabama, and the western Florida Panhandle. Be aware of the risk for large hail and strong winds, and there’s also a chance of a brief tornado.

In the Texas Panhandle, southeast Colorado, and northeast New Mexico, snow is expected, so residents there should prepare accordingly.

Sunday

As we move into Sunday, rain and thunderstorms will sweep across the Southeast and parts of northern and central Florida. This can impact plans from Atlanta down to Charleston and Tallahassee.

There’s a slight chance of severe storms in northern Florida and southern Georgia, where wind damage could occur. Keep an eye on the sky and stay updated.

While most areas in the South won’t see heavy rainfall, some parts of northern Florida, southern Georgia, and southern South Carolina could receive more than an inch.
