Do you remember the Lumia 1020? It’s making a comeback, but this time with an iPhone SE twist.
When it launched back in July 2013, the Lumia 1020 was all about its incredible camera. It featured a massive 41-megapixel sensor that really stood out. Nokia even showcased its low-light and fast-motion photography by capturing breakdancers in a dimly lit room. They also introduced a camera grip that made the phone feel more like a traditional camera. It was so good that some experts suggested it could replace point-and-shoot cameras.
The Lumia 1020 also ran on Windows Phone, Microsoft’s bold attempt to enter the mobile market. Unfortunately, Windows Phone never gained significant traction and eventually shut down in October 2017. Most would think this marked the end for the Lumia 1020 as a functional smartphone.
But not for one creative user on Reddit, known as /u/OceanDepth95028. Instead of writing it off, they saw potential. They imagined what it would be like to turn the Lumia 1020 into something new, specifically a third-generation iPhone SE. They put their skills to the test and surprisingly got it to boot!
They even shared their journey on Reddit’s r/hackintosh, showing that creativity can breathe new life into old technology. What a fascinating transformation!
