Trinity Health Livingston is making a big move. The hospital is relocating from Howell to Brighton, with the new facility opening on April 19. This new campus is located at 7555 Grand River and is about eight miles from the old site.
The new hospital is impressive, spanning 174,000 square feet. It boasts 56 adaptable beds and features specialized bariatric rooms. Patients can expect 18 Short Stay Unit beds and 8 operating rooms, along with top-notch cardiac rehabilitation services. The facility has invested in new medical equipment, including advanced CT and MRI machines.
John O’Malley, the president of Trinity Health Livingston, shared that this move has been in the works for over a decade. “It’s a monumental task that needs lots of planning and teamwork,” he noted. Safety and patient care remain the top priorities throughout this transition.
Community involvement is essential. To engage with locals, Trinity Health is hosting a virtual town hall on March 31 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Residents can join the session online and ask questions. There’s also an open house scheduled for April 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Attendees can participate in a scavenger hunt and even test out a surgical robot.
According to a recent survey, around 78% of residents are excited about the new facility and its advanced healthcare options. O’Malley emphasized that this hospital is not just a building; it’s a vital part of the community’s health infrastructure.
This transition aligns with a broader trend in healthcare, where facilities are moving to newer, more equipped locations to better serve patients. Similar shifts have been seen across the country as hospitals adapt to changing health needs and technologies.
