Trump Appoints Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone as Special Ambassadors to Hollywood: What It Means for the Film Industry

On Thursday, President-elect Donald Trump shared some big news. He named three famous actors—Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone—as “Special Ambassadors” for Hollywood.

Trump announced this on Truth Social, saying that they would help revive Hollywood, which he believes has lost business to other countries. He promised that, under their guidance, Hollywood would come back “bigger, better, and stronger than ever before!”

Jon Voight has been a passionate supporter of Trump for many years. He backed Trump’s first presidential campaign in 2016 and received the National Medal of Arts from Trump in 2019.

Mel Gibson recently expressed his support for Trump and took some jabs at Vice President Kamala Harris. He has also been in the news for sharing some controversial views about California wildfires after he lost his home in the fires.

Sylvester Stallone endorsed Trump towards the end of the 2024 campaign. At an event, he even called Trump “the second George Washington,” emphasizing his admiration for the president-elect.

Trump made it clear that he will take their advice seriously. He expressed hope that their collaboration would lead to a revival comparable to “The Golden Age of Hollywood.”
