Trump emphasized that the U.S. could take decisive action, stating, “We may very well go into that now disgraced country, ‘guns-a-blazing,’ to wipe out Islamic terrorists committing these atrocities.”
He instructed the Department of Defense to prepare for possible action, declaring that if the U.S. intervenes, it would be swift and ruthless, akin to the attacks that threaten Christians.
This announcement came on the heels of Trump labeling Nigeria a “Country of Particular Concern” under the International Religious Freedom Act, citing fears that Christianity faces an “existential threat” there. In response, Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu countered Trump’s claims.
