Greene responded on X, saying Trump “attacked” and “lied” about her. She insisted she has devoted significant time and resources to support him and emphasized that her allegiance lies with her constituents and her faith, not with Trump.
Since joining Congress in 2021, Greene has been a vocal supporter of Trump, defending him during numerous controversies. However, her recent criticisms of Republican leaders have drawn attention. She has called out her party for not addressing crucial issues like the rising cost of living and healthcare expenses. Surprisingly, some Democrats have even praised her for this stance.
Greene’s disagreement with Trump deepened when she was one of the four House Republicans to sign a petition pushing for the release of Jeffrey Epstein’s records. Trump has previously advised Republicans to stay away from that topic, which Greene argues is a “huge miscalculation” on his part.
In a recent interview, Greene reiterated her dedication to advocating for the American people, firmly asserting she is “America first.” She also claimed that Trump may have discouraged her from running for a Senate seat in 2026, fearing it could weaken his influence in the race against Democrat Sen. Jon Ossoff.
