Trump’s gold card system also offers residency rights, but it streamlines the process for wealthy individuals willing to pay for it directly.

Trump describes the gold card as providing “green card privileges plus a route to American citizenship.” It aims to cater to affluent investors looking for a faster option.

While this program has funded various developments, it has faced issues of misuse. In the past, Trump tried to increase the investment amount, but a court blocked his attempt in 2021. The Biden administration reverted to the original investment levels when the program was renewed in 2022.

As for who may qualify for the gold card, Trump mentioned that wealthy individuals, including potential investors from Russia, could be eligible. He remarked, “I know some Russian oligarchs that are very nice people.”
