Tufts Women’s Swimming & Diving Team Shines at NESCAC Championships
In a remarkable showing at the 2026 NESCAC Championships, the Tufts University women’s swimming and diving team celebrated significant achievements. Eleven team members earned recognition, highlighting their hard work and talent.
Senior Madeleine Dunn made history by becoming Tufts’ first-ever NESCAC Swimmer of the Year. She triumphed in the 500, 1000, and 1650 freestyle events. Dunn also led the Jumbos’ 800 freestyle relay team to a third-place finish. Over her career, she has secured seven individual championships at the NESCAC level and received the Career High-Points Swimmer award for amassing 355 points across four championships.
Joining Dunn in receiving All-Conference honors were seniors Isa Chambers and Quinci Wheeler, juniors Elena Harrison and Sydney Stasz, and first-years Alec Lazorisak and Cloe Nader. Each of them placed among the top three in their respective events.
Wheeler stood out with top-three finishes in four events, including the 200 and 800 freestyle relays. Stasz excelled in the 50 and 100 breaststrokes and contributed to both freestyle relays.
Harrison, Lazorisak, Skelly, and Smyrniou each earned All-Conference honors for three events. Harrison excelled in the medley relays and the 800 freestyle relay, while Lazorisak made a splash in the 50 freestyle and contributed to two freestyle relays. Skelly’s efforts in the medley and freestyle relays also garnered recognition. Smyrniou was acknowledged for her performances in the butterfly and medley relays.
Chambers and Nader were honored for their double-event achievements, while Su also made the All-Conference team as part of the 800 freestyle relay.
This year marks the fourth consecutive time Dunn and Wheeler have received All-Conference honors. Chambers, Harrison, and Stasz have been recognized three times, while Skelly and Smyrniou are two-time honorees. Notably, Lazorisak, Nader, and Su were acknowledged for the first time.
In diving, senior Malia Leung earned the NESCAC Career High-Points Diver award with 193 points, showcasing her consistent excellence since 2023. Coach Brad Snodgrass secured the NESCAC Diving Coach of the Year title for the third time. Under his guidance, the Jumbos consistently performed well, with divers finishing strong in both the three-meter and one-meter events.
Head coach Adam Hoyt led the team to a commendable second-place finish at the championships. The Jumbos’ spirit and teamwork were evident throughout the competition, leaving a lasting impression.
Overall, the achievements at this year’s NESCAC Championships underscore the dedication and skill of the Tufts women’s swimming and diving team, marking a significant chapter in the program’s history.
