Karnataka Controversy: A dispute has erupted between two villages over the ownership rights of a buffalo in Davanagere district of Karnataka. This buffalo was devoted to a temple and was worshiped by lots of of devotees. Now the problem of ownership of this buffalo has taken a critical type and the police has decided to conduct a DNA test on it.

The dispute is between Kunnibelakere and Kulagatte villages that are positioned about 40 kilometers away from one another. The police have taken this buffalo into their custody within the cowshed of Shimoga. However, this matter has not been resolved but. It is being instructed that this case is a repeat of an identical case that came about in Davangere district in 2021 when the ownership of a buffalo was decided through DNA testing.

Difference of opinion even on the age of buffalo

The villagers of Kunibelakere declare that this buffalo is eight years previous whereas the individuals of Kulgatte say that it’s three years previous. According to the investigation performed by veterinary consultants, the age of the buffalo is alleged to be greater than six years, which is in favor of Kunibelakere’s declare. Despite this, the individuals of Kulgatte disagree with this conclusion and have decided to take the buffalo to their village. Have claimed.

Theft case in Kunibelakere and demand for DNA test

Residents of Kunibelakere village have filed a case of theft towards seven individuals from Kulagatte and have demanded a DNA test to substantiate ownership of the buffalo.
