Tyler Loop Shines at M&T Bank Stadium: Highlights from a ‘Beautiful’ Kicking Day

As the Ravens’ holder, Jordan Stout has a close-up view of rookie kicker Tyler Loop every day. During a recent open practice at M&T Bank Stadium, 26,052 fans watched Loop shine.

“You all saw him today, right? He’s pretty good, huh?” Stout remarked.

Loop impressed everyone by making all 11 of his field goal attempts, including a jaw-dropping 60-yarder that had the crowd buzzing. After practice, he was quickly surrounded by reporters who wanted to know about his experience playing for Ravens fans.

“It’s a beautiful stadium and a great environment,” Loop said with a smile. “I love the purple. The fans are passionate about football here.”

As the first kicker ever drafted by the Ravens, Loop knows he’s stepping into big shoes, especially on a team gunning for a Super Bowl. Yet, he’s focused on improving daily, rather than comparing himself to legends like Justin Tucker.

“Tuck is incredible. He’s arguably the best ever,” Loop said. “He got there by focusing on the process and hitting his targets. That’s what [Special Teams Coach] Randy [Brown] and I discuss—building a solid process together.”

Recently, the Ravens waived undrafted kicker John Hoyland, leaving Loop as the only kicker in training camp. Loop credited Hoyland for pushing him to be better and expressed hope for his former teammate’s future in the NFL. But on that Sunday, all eyes were on him as he kicked well in the stadium.

“He’s going to be great,” Stout said. “His confidence has definitely surged. He’s a naturally confident guy, and now it’s showing even more.”

Statistics show that rookie kickers often struggle in their first season, with only about 60% making all their attempts. Yet Loop’s standout performance could indicate he may break this trend. This type of momentum can be crucial for rookies, as emotional support from fans often plays a significant role in their success.

Social media buzz around Loop has been positive, with fans expressing their excitement for him on platforms like Twitter and Instagram. As Baltimore embraces its new kicker, the road ahead looks promising.
