ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – In a tough matchup, Luke Johnson scored for Alaska Anchorage, but they lost 4-1 to Alaska Fairbanks during the Alaska Airlines Governor’s Cup on Friday. With this loss, UAF now leads the series 7-2.
The game kicked off with Tommy Cronin scoring first for UAF at 6:41 in the first period. Soon after, at 4:50 in the second, Alexander Malinowski doubled the lead to 2-0.
Johnson put Alaska Anchorage on the board with a top-shelf goal after a great assist from JP Steele at 17:37 of the second period, with Nolan Gagnon also credited with a helper.
In the third, Michael Citara scored the only power-play goal at 4:23 for UAF. Jhett Larson sealed the game with an empty-net goal at 17:44.
UAF out-shot UAA 27-19, with Tyler Krivtsov making 23 saves for the Seawolves.
