Uber has teamed up with Avride to revolutionize delivery services. This new partnership will introduce Avride’s delivery robots and autonomous vehicles to Uber and Uber Eats.
For the first time on the East Coast, Uber Eats will deploy robots for deliveries in Jersey City. This service will start in the downtown area, covering places like Hamilton Park, Historic Downtown, and the Waterfront.
The delivery service will operate from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. customers can use the Uber Eats or Uber apps to request their food. Depending on availability, they might see the option to choose an Avride robot for their delivery.
Dmitry Polishchuk, CEO of Avride, expressed excitement about the partnership. He mentioned plans to increase the fleet of Avride robots in Uber Eats to hundreds by 2025, along with rolling out a robotaxi service.
Uber’s CEO, Dara Khosrowshahi, shared his enthusiasm as well. He emphasized the potential of autonomous delivery to enhance the experience for customers and communities alike.
