The upcoming UFC 315 event promises excitement with two title fights. It’s scheduled for May 10 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Welterweight champion Belal Muhammad will defend his title against Jack Della Maddalena. After a tough battle with a toe infection, Muhammad is back. He was set to fight Shavkat Rakhmonov in December, but that match didn’t happen. Rakhmonov went on to beat Ian Machado Garry instead.
Della Maddalena, with a record of 17 wins and 2 losses, steps in for Rakhmonov. He was heading to fight Leon Edwards but now gets a shot at the title. Della Maddalena has notable wins over Gilbert Burns and Kevin Holland in his UFC journey.
In the co-main event, women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko faces off against Manon Fiorot. This will be Shevchenko’s first match against someone other than Alexa Grasso in a while. The two fighters have faced each other in a trilogy, ending in a tie. Shevchenko recently reclaimed her title from Grasso in September.
Fiorot, with a record of 12 wins and 1 loss, is looking to make history as the first French champion. She’s had a strong run in the UFC, defeating tough opponents like Erin Blanchfield and Rose Namajunas.
Also on the card, Gilbert Burns goes against Michael Morales, which was initially part of UFC 314. This brings the total number of known fights for UFC 315 to seven.
The lineup for UFC 315 includes:
- Belal Muhammad vs. Jack Della Maddalena – Welterweight title
- Valentina Shevchenko vs. Manon Fiorot – Women’s flyweight title
